ZBrush
If you've ever tried your hand at 3-D modeling, you know that it's a complex process involving weird tools and changing viewpoints. Pixologic's ZBrush delivers sophisticated tools to would-be 3-D artists, but it provides them in a form most of us already understand: the paintbrush. ZBrush's painting tools let you paint objects that have depth and dimension, but the program can't do all the things a true 3-D modeler can do (for example, lofting and extruding). It's really something of a 2-D-3-D hybrid, but once you figure it out, you can use it to create 3-D images fairly easily.

System Requirements
PC System Requirements Z-brush 2: OS: Windows 2000 or newer CPU: Fast PIII or newer with optional multithreading or hyperthreading capabilities. RAM: 512MB (1024MB for working with multi-million-poly meshes) Monitor: 1280x1024 monitor resolution (32 bits) OS: Windows 98 CPU: PII with MMX, 200MHz RAM: 256MB (512MB recommended) Monitor: 1024x768 monitor resolution (32 bits)
MAC System Requirements Z brush 1.55: 200mHz PPC, G3 or G4 Processor 128MB RAM (can be Virtual Memory) 1024x768 Monitor Resolution set to Millions of Colors Operating System 8.1+ Note: ZBrush has not intentionally been designed for earlier systems, and our product testing has taken place only on computers running OS8.1 and later. However, there is reason to believe it may be compatible with earlier systems, though we cannot make any guarantees. ZBrush should work fine on MacOSX, and we are currently investigating methods to take advantage of the benefits offered by MacOSX. |
